How to: Format a callout.
Solution:
Select the callout and click 'Format Callout' on the 'Drawing' toolbar. Select the type of callout and type the text in the 'Gap' box.
To change the format of a callout in Word 7.0:
1) Display the 'Drawing' toolbar.
2) Select the desired callout.
3) Click 'Format Callout' on the 'Drawing' toolbar. (The 'Format Callout' dialog box appears.)
4) Select the desired type of callout from the 'Type' group.
5) Type the distance between the callout line and the callout text in the 'Gap' box.
6) Select the desired angle from the 'Angle' drop-down list box.
7) Do one of the following:
a) In the 'Drop' drop-down list box, select the desired placing of the callout line in relation to the callout box.
b) In the 'Drop' box, type the desired distance from the top for the callout line in relation to the callout box.
8) Do one of the following:
a) Select 'Best Fit' from the 'Length' drop-down list box.
b) Type the desired length for the callout line, in the 'Length' box.
9) (Optional) Select the 'Text Border' check box.
10) (Optional) Select the 'Auto Attach' check box.
11) (Optional) Select the 'Add Accent Bar' check box.
12) Click 'OK'.
13) Single-click outside the callout text box to return to the document. (The box disappears, and the text remains.)
